Prompt #1

Be regular

“We are the saviours we are waiting for.” – Rachel Rodgers

It’s easy to feel the pressure to be extraordinary in every project we work on.

But, as entrepreneur Rachel Rodgers reminds us, we already have everything we need within ourselves.

So be regular, be yourself.

Confidence doesn’t come from being extraordinary, but from being your regular self and dedicating yourself consistently to your work.

Prompt #2

The Art of Design: Paula Scher

This is an inspiring documentary I watched recently on YouTube.

In it, Paula’s passion for typography shines through as she shares her journey to becoming known for it.

"You can create an identity for a whole place based on a recognisability of type… Typography can create immense power. You’re working with things that create character."

Paula explains how fonts convey a distinct “sensibility and spirit” – even before they’re read – and how subtle tweaks can completely alter the mood.

I love her approach, “to raise questions, not answer them”, and also enjoyed watching the behind-the-scenes collaborative process with her team at Pentagram.

The full episode is only 40 minutes... or 20 if you watch at double speed :p.

Prompt #3

Drawing inside shapes in Illustrator

If you usually use the clipping mask to put things inside of shapes in Illustrator, there’s a quicker way to do it!

You can use the ‘Draw Inside’ tool for shading and layering designs.

Watch my reel on how to use the ‘Draw Inside’ tool.
